Can you tell us a little about your role and what you do here at Ai?

I am the Shipping and Warehouse Operations Lead responsible for all inventory, local deliveries as well as shipping and receiving. In addition to my primary responsibilities, I’ve had the opportunity to use some of my past print industry experience in working directly with management team to improve some policy and procedures.

How long have you worked at Ai?

As of September I have been here for 1 year.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I love to problem solve. I’m always looking for a better and more efficient way to get things done.

How has your career grown or evolved since joining the company?

I’ve been in the industry for over 45 years and have had many different roles of varying responsibilities. This role is different than what I’ve been used to doing in the past, but my approach never changes. I look at each opportunity as a new challenge and a chance to see if I can improve.

What has been your most memorable project or achievement here?

The management team has been great in allowing me the latitude to implement changes in the warehouse. By doing some strategic rearranging we were able to increase our in-plant capacity and reduce our external storage cost. This also helped cut down our transportation cost.

Has there been a memorable moment or event at Ai that stands out in your mind? If so, we’d love to hear what made it special!

I like the fact that they take time to do special events for the employees. I think it goes a long way in building relationships and comradery.

What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I once went swimming in the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean in the same day.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends. I have 4 grandchildren who I never see enough of, but we group text often. I enjoy traveling and music. I also enjoy working in my woodshop building projects.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

The ability to share ideas to make the workflow more efficient—being open to change.

If you could describe the company culture in three words, what would they be?

Driven, consistent, forward thinking. It can be fast paced at times, but the team works well together to achieve the goals with an open mentality to improve efficacy.

What qualities or mindset do you aim to bring to your team and work each day?

Lead by example and come in with a strong work ethic. I’m a strong believer that you can learn something from everyone. Communication is not just telling people what to do but also listening. Try to improve every day.
