We’re quickly approaching our one year anniversary of the installation of the AccurioJet KM-1 Inkjet Press (KM-1). Time really does zip past in a blink. And, what a game-changing year it’s been.
The KM-1, has been a beneficial addition to our fleet of offset and digital presses for both our pressmen and our clients. We’ve been able to shorten production time, automate workflows, reduce our environmental impact, and create some truly fantastic final pieces on diverse substrates. It has allowed our clients to meet tight deadlines, expand their creativity, and review and approve proofs at their convenience, 24/7.
Creativity Expanded
The KM-1 has opened new doors for clients seeking digital printing on specialized materials such as translucents, plastics, textured papers, packaging cartons, and more. It’s versatility has allowed us to create some visually stunning pieces for clients ranging from direct mailers to packaging—and we haven’t begun to put it to a real test yet.
Some of the other talking points for the KM-1 are:
- UV ink technology providing greater registration accuracy
- UV LED light curing technology
- High-precision color-matching
- High-quality image resolution at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi
- 3,000 sheet/hour
- Paper-conveying technology identical to that used in offset printing
- Compatible with diverse paper types eliminating the need for pre-treatments
Project Automation
The KM-1 has also opened up new doors for our client’s seeking project automation.
Our automation platform assimilates with the KM-1 perfectly. Projects with variable data are easy-breezy, file proofing is streamlined, and approvals are nearly hyper-speed. Ok, maybe not hyper-speed. But, certainly speedy-speedy-speedy.
This customer-facing platform takes the hassle out of file prepping and approvals. The system will automatically check and adjust PDF files, and since the PDF review module is integrated, clients can review and approve project files online. Speedy-speedy-speedy!
Greener Printing Technology
Almost a year later, we can collectively confirm breathing is easier around the shop and offices since the inclusion of the KM-1. It’s FDA approved for meeting strict safety and environmental standards—noted as a champion of environmental sustainability for its ability to eliminate harmful emissions.
The KM -1 also optimizes paper usage, reducing paper waste and its ecological footprint.
Looking Ahead
