Employee Spotlight: Meet AKIA MARSHALL

In this Employee Spotlight, meet Akia Marshall, a valued member of our production team who helps ensure every mail piece is printed clearly and ready to make a great impression. From mastering the inkjet machine to bringing creativity and a positive attitude to work each day, Akia shares her journey at Ai, her favorite team memories, and what she loves doing outside of work.
Can you tell us a little about your role and what you do here at Ai?
I am a full-time mail room, inkjet operator.
How long have you worked at Ai?
I started working at Ai part-time in July 2013 and transitioned to full-time in May 2018. Over the years, I’ve gained valuable experience as a Mailroom Operator and have enjoyed being part of the team that helps keep things running smoothly every day.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is making sure the ink prints clearly and looks great on the mail pieces I address before they’re sent out. I take pride in the quality of my work and knowing that every piece is ready to make a great impression!
How has your career grown or evolved since joining the company?
When I first started, I didn’t know much about the inkjet machine, but over the years, I’ve learned so much and become very familiar with how it works. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown in my role!
Has there been a memorable moment or event at Ai that stands out in your mind?
The events that stand out in my mind the most are our Halloween parties. I love to get creative and dress up! I’ve even won a few of them. 😉
What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I’m a very creative person and love anything hands-on! Whether it’s decorating, designing clothes, creating poster boards, or working on crafts, I enjoy bringing my ideas to life and putting my own personal touch on everything I do.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I love to spend time with my family! Game nights, BBQ’s, word search puzzles, roller skating and camping.
What do you enjoy most about working with your team?
I love the teamwork that goes into getting a job finished and out the door on time. It’s great when everyone works together toward the same goal! I also enjoy the conversations and laughs we share throughout the day. We can always find something to laugh about, which makes being part of the team even more fun.
What qualities or mindset do you aim to bring to your team and work each day?
I like to come in with a plan, a smile, and a positive attitude! I always do my best to stay organized, keep things running smoothly, and get my work done.
